Product Description

Sprouted Health Mix is a traditional multi-grain and multi-ingredient food mix prepared using sprouted millets, grains and pulses, along with nuts, seeds and aromatic spices. Similar Tamil Nadu-style sprouted health-mix formulations include ingredients such as ragi, pearl millet, jowar, foxtail millet, little millet, kodo millet, barnyard millet, green gram, horse gram, chickpeas, rice, wheat and barley, complemented by ingredients such as almonds, cashews, peanuts, cardamom and dry ginger.

The finely ground mix can be cooked with water or milk to make a smooth sathu maavu kanji or warm malt-style drink. It can also be incorporated into traditional preparations such as dosa, chapathi, puttu and ladoo. The combination of roasted and sprouted ingredients gives the mix a characteristic grain-and-nut aroma with a mildly earthy, nutty flavour.

Key Ingredients:

  • Sprouted Ragi (Finger Millet)
  • Sprouted Pearl Millet (Kambu)
  • Sprouted Jowar (Sorghum)
  • Foxtail Millet (Thinai)
  • Little Millet (Samai)
  • Kodo Millet (Varagu)
  • Barnyard Millet (Kuthiraivali)
  • Green Gram (Pachai Payaru)
  • Horse Gram (Kollu)

Serving Suggestions:

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons of the powder with approximately 1 cup of water or milk.
  2. Cook over low heat for 3–7 minutes, stirring continuously until the desired consistency is reached.
  3. Prepare as sweet sathu maavu kanji with jaggery.
  4. Prepare a savoury version with salt.
  5. Use the mix in dosa batter, chapathi, puttu or ladoo preparations.

Storage Type:

  • Store in a cool and dry place.
  • Keep away from moisture, heat and direct sunlight.
  • After opening, transfer to a clean, dry airtight container.
  • Always use a clean and dry spoon when handling the powder.
