Product Description

Custard Apple (சீதா / சீதாப்பழம்) is a tropical fruit tree belonging to the Annonaceae family and the species Annona squamosa L. The fruit has a characteristic segmented green skin and contains soft, creamy-white pulp surrounding hard brown-to-black seeds. When fully ripe, the pulp develops a sweet flavour and distinctive aroma. Custard apple is cultivated in several parts of India, including Tamil Nadu.

The ripe fruit is primarily enjoyed fresh by separating the creamy pulp from the seeds. Custard apple pulp is also used in preparations such as milkshakes, ice cream, custards and other fruit-based products. The species grows well in warm tropical conditions and is cultivated both in orchards and as a fruit tree around agricultural fields and home gardens.
